Shatterer FPS GameDev Update: SCAR-H and Gun Optics

Shatterer devlog: added the SCAR-H rifle, holographic sights, a sniper scope using render textures, and a working tactical flashlight.

This Shatterer update focuses on weapon variety and optics. The video tests three weapons against humanoid ragdoll targets, showcasing both the new hardware and the game's physics.

  • Assault rifle — accurate, moderate impact at close range
  • SCAR-H with scope — higher stopping power; targets visibly launch into the air on hit
  • Pistol — tested at the end for a quick comparison

The optics system now has three tiers: a holographic sight using a texture overlay, a zoomed holographic using a render texture, and a sniper scope also rendered via render texture with a scope overlay. Physics interactions are also demonstrated — weapons can be picked up, thrown, and manipulated mid-air.

Finally got some decent looking gun sights and optics in. The holographic sight is just a texture, but the zoomed in holographic and sniper scope are render textures with scope overlays.
